Polish Airport Introduces Sleeping Capsules for Travellers Who Want to Nap Between Flights

At Warsaw Chopin Airport, travellers now have access to two additional amenities, including the InPost Paczkomat device and sleeping capsules.

In a recent statement, the airport announced that located inside the Fast Track corridor, at the baggage control area E at Chopin Airport, the Paczkomat device finds its place.

As the same explains, if a passenger finds himself in front of the security checkpoint with an item unacceptable for transport, a smart tool is presented in the form of the InPost service. This option allows the traveller to take proactive action, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

In addition, sleeping capsules are being added to the list of amenities. Designed to provide rest during long layovers or long waits between flights, these capsules offer an optimal solution. They cater not only to travellers who endure long transfer intervals but also to those who find themselves forced to spend the night inside the airport premises.

In this regard, spokeswoman for Chopin Airport Anna Dermont emphasised that the introduction of sleeping capsules at the airport is another step taken to increase the comfort of travel.

According to her, this initiative serves as a direct response to the demands of passengers who find themselves locked in the terminal and are unable to benefit from conventional hotel accommodations. At the same time, she said that these sleeping capsules are strategically positioned within the non-Schengen area to suit this specific demographic.

Moreover, Paczkomat is intended for passengers whose carry-on items have not cleared the security check. Meanwhile, sleeping capsules offer an ideal option for those waiting for a connecting flight.

“The possibility of sending a parcel directly from the baggage control area at the airport is the first solution of this type not only in Poland, but also in Europe. We meet the expectations of many passengers of our port. Often, out of distraction or ignorance, travellers proceed to the security check with a prohibited item in their luggage,” Dermont noted.

According to Chopin Airport, the innovative Paczkomat device, a debut offering in Europe at Chopin Airport, is designed to assist passengers whose hand luggage contents have raised concerns during security checks.

In cases where a particular item inside the luggage should rightfully belong to checked luggage, for example, perfume or a souvenir penknife, travellers now have the option to send said item through the Paczkomat device. Chopin Airpot further revealed that this remarkable solution eliminates the need to delete the item altogether.
